GREETING

In the middle of the inferior economical situation which is said to be as bad as once in 100 years time, Mokkiten Nagoya 2009 with Wood Eco Tec
2009 are to be held from October 28th (Wed), 2009 to October 31st (Sat), 2009 being co-hosted by the Japan Woodworking Machinery Association and Chubu Woodworking
Machinery Association.
The Japanese prime minister in the new government, Mr. Hatoyama expressed to the world at the UN Summit on Climate Change on September 22, 2009 that Japan will aim to reduce its emissions by 25% by 2020 compared to the 1990 level. The carbon dioxide (CO2) which is the representative of greenhouse gases is absorbed by healthy forests, and gives us clean oxygen. It is a well-known fact that forest is an air cleaner.
However, despite the fact that two third of our land is covered by forests, much of those are unhealthy forests being left untouched for years since the planting right after the World War II. In order to gain the healthy forests back, forest management like thinning has been widely executed in Japan. And the role of woodworking machinery is strongly expected.
Not just woodworking machineries but also knives, dryers and eco-system machineries will be brought to this exhibition from all over Japan and the world. Also, seminars, symposiums and special exhibitions by academic organization will be held concurrently making it to be a combined industrial technical exhibition.
It is smaller in size compare to the last exhibition, but we would like you to come and see the enthusiasm and potential of each exhibitor.
